Reviews and Ratings
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were very comfortable, but the 25 step spiral staircase was challenging for my bad knee. The lack of AC could be an issue in the heat of summer.
This hotel offers a mix of highs and lows. The rooms were very large and well-appointed, making for a comfortable stay with a great shower. However, the room was almost uninhabitable for two people. The service was a mixed bag with courteous and helpful staff, alongside a somewhat unwelcoming atmosphere during dinner setup. The location is a standout, being in the historical town of Duernstein overlooking the Danube, offering convenient access to explore the beautiful Wachau Valley. The dining experience was a special one, except for the limited variety. The facilities were generally satisfactory.
Arriving at this charming hotel in the heart of the village, we were enchanted by the antique decor of the rooms and the picturesque surroundings. The early awakening caused by the church bells may not suit all guests, but the serene ambiance compensates well for it.
